Jammu, Mar 24 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government clarified on Monday that it has no plans to provide a ‘monthly sustenance’ allowance of Rs 10,000 to licensed advocates for a period of five years. In response to a question raised by legislator Hilal Akbar Lone, during the ongoing budget session of the J&K legislative assembly, Minister ln-charge Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that no such proposal was currently under consideration. “No such proposal is under consideration of the government,” the response reads. Notably, the demand for financial assistance to young advocates has been a longstanding issue, with many legal practitioners arguing that the initial years of practice are financially challenging. However, the government’s response indicates that such support is not on the agenda at present—(KNO)
